Nuclear science

Spencer Klein
nuclear physicist
Spencer Klein is a senior scientist with a joint appointment at UC Berkeley. His research focuses on detection of high-energy neutrinos from astrophysical sources, and he is working on two neutrino detectors in Antarctica, the giant IceCube neutrino telescope at the South Pole and the proposed ARIANNA detector on the Ross Ice Shelf.

I-Yang Lee
nuclear physicist
I-Yang Lee, head of the GRETINA project in the Nuclear Science Division, studies atomic nuclei under unusual conditions and nuclei which are unusual in their own right. He has led teams of his Berkeley Lab colleagues, with coworkers in other institutions, in designing and building some of the world's best gamma-ray detectors for nuclear science.
