Eva Nogales is a renowned expert in using cryo-electron microscopy (cyro-EM) to gain insight into the structure and function of molecules within cells. In addition to her position at Berkeley Lab, she is a Howard Hughes Investigator; a professor of biochemistry, biophysics and structural biology at UC Berkeley; and leader of the Bay Area Cryo-EM Facility
